These Excite Plinking pellets, with their 5.5mm caliber and 12.8 grains weight, are perfect for recreational shooting and plinking. With the Flat Nose (FN) pellet shape, they are especially suitable for target shooting and paper targets, where the flat tip leaves neat round holes. The weight of 12.8 grains makes them suitable for both break barrel air rifles, PCP air rifles, and CO₂ systems up to approximately 50 meters distance at a power level around 25-30 Joules.

We have extensively tested these Excite Plinking pellets and can confirm that they deliver what they promise: reliable performance at an attractive price. The ribbed diabolo shape ensures stable flight characteristics, especially at distances up to 50 metres. The projectile maintains its trajectory well and delivers consistent groupings, which is important for recreational shooting when you want to improve your skills.
Technical properties in practice
With a calibre of 5.5mm and a weight of 12.8 grains, these projectiles are in the mid-weight category. The Flat Nose shape provides excellent energy transfer on impact, ideal for target shooting where you want to punch through cards or spin targets. The lead material is soft enough not to damage the barrel, but hard enough for good performance. Each pack contains 250 pieces, enough for many shooting sessions.
Who is this air rifle ammunition suitable for?
These Excite Plinking pellets are designed for the recreational shooter who wants to shoot regularly without paying a premium. They work excellently in break barrel air rifles, PCP air rifles, and CO₂ systems. The flat nose shape makes them particularly suitable for plinking activities such as hitting cans, spinners, or shooting through playing cards. Testing different grain weights is always recommended for optimal accuracy in your specific air rifle – a chronograph can help measure the energy output and find the best match.

An extremely favorable ballistic coefficient (BC) ensures a flat trajectory and excellent energy retention. The muzzle energy of the rifle should be at least 18.4 ft/lbs, but for best results it is recommended to have an air gun with a muzzle energy of 29.5 to 44.2 ft/lbs. All pellets get visually inspected, hand packed and secured for transport with foam pads. Available in .217 cal / 5.51mm or .218cal / 5.53mm.
